Best Steak Restaurants in Little Italy / University Village

Joe's never disappoints. The stone crab claws are always delicious. The salads--beet root and chopped lettuce, tomato, onion, and feta--were excellent and large-sized (shareable). And the crab cakes were all crab and the tuna perfectly cooked and plentiful. The service is attentive, but not intrusive, and very helpful in making menu decisions. And the ambience is nice--the tables and booths are nicely spaced so that, even when Joe's is crowded, which is all the times we have been there, it is possible for two people to have a conversation without having to yell across the table at each other. Joe's is on our regular rota of Chicago restos--pricey but worth the cost.

Great experience. We started with the bite size apps: delicious. We then had the oysters: outstanding. Next was the Caesar for two: not my favorite. Too much lemon and way too much anchovies. Next time I would definitely ask for very little lemon and no anchovies or maybe one smashed in the dressing. We ordered filet mignon with the mushrooms and mashed potatoes- outstanding! Celebrating new year’s dinner here. The menu selection was awesome. The staff and hostess were professional and friendly. Got a couple cocktails and were very good. Ordered the Mediterranean Octopus for a starter. It was fresh and delicious with a tad bit spicy. Had a 10oz Creekstone steak which is halal steak that they have. It was cooked as requested. Absolutely delicious. The siide dishes of roasted brussel sprouts however was salty, same as the frites. Somehow they were a little too salty. Also ordered japanese sweet potatoes which absolutely great and flavorful. Finished off with the expresso cream brulè and it was an indulgence. RPM Steak is great upscale dining for special occasions.

I loved this place. Everyone was so nice and polite, the staff team was amazing to me and my family the entire time we was there. they also noticed it was my birthday and they all were telling me happy birthday❤️ last but not least the food was good we enjoyed every dish that came out. I would definitely recommend this place. Thanks GT Prime Steakhouse.

Steakhouses in Chicago are a dime a dozen which makes it hard to choose one over the other. Mastro’s has never disappointed. They check all the boxes and do so to be among the top 5 in my book. Thanks to the crew there for helping my family get out the door quickly for a play last night!
