Basho is a Japanese word that is roughly translated as "location" or "a space where activities occur". It could be a family gathering, socializing with friends, or a business event; moreover, it could be the setting for an unforgettable experience. We call this setting "Basho".Basho is a contemporary Izakaya brasserie where dishes are prepared in two separate areas: the principal kitchen and the sushi bar. Rather than offering individual starters and main courses, Basho serves dishes that are designed for sharing and are brought to the table steadily and continuously throughout the meal.Your server will be happy to assist you in choosing dishes, such as our Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice Appetizer, which is highly popular or our specially crafted 1338 Signature Roll. We are also conveniently located within the heart of Fenway. If you're ever in the area for a Red Sox's game, stop by! We are only a 2 minute walk from Fenway Park!

Excellent food and service! Never disappoints. The atmosphere is modern, just a bit too dark so it’s hard to read the menus and see the food. Otherwise we love everything about this place. Best sushi and maki in town.

I’ve come here for my Christmas Eve Eve celebration for the last 4 years. This is the first time I had a different server and the first time there were only a handful of people. One thing I noticed was 2 servers helping everyone which is great for the team work, but confusing when you are waiting for service. Our server finally came after she greeted and got water for the table that was seated 5 minutes after us and she was distracted while doing so as we saw her stop at other tables and do a few other things before actually getting the water for our table. We were unable to order the Christmas drinks but she was not sure what ingredient they didn’t have to make it. We settled on a Christmas drink and then moved on to our usual drink choice. Food always awesome, service was just ok, but we will always come back!!!
