Best Wineries in Halifax

First time dining at the Five Fishermen in Halifax. We are visiting from Saskatchewan and had always wanted to spend an evening there. Our experience exceeded our expectations. The ambience was amazing. Kristen - our waitress - was wonderful. We had 2 Celiacs (must eat gluten free) at our table and she really went above and beyond to guide us through the menu and ensure that our meals were prepared safely. Most items were gluten free. We shared 2 appetizers between the 4 of us. For our main meals - and because they were out of fresh lobsters - she had the chef create a lovely gluten free lobster and scallop risotto for two of us - which wasn't on the menu...but was fantastic. The men had steak and a burger. I had a glass of wine and the men had 2 draft beer each. For $249.99 plus tip, that was a great experience and more than worth the cost. If I could rate this place 10 stars I would. Highly, highly recommend. Will return the next time I'm in town. Cheers from Saskatchewan!!

We were greeted when we arrived with warmth and cheerfulness. This continued with every interaction with staff. They were knowledgeable about the food and beverages and confidently answered our questions. The food was exceptional - in every way, in every bite. Flavours were exquisite to our palates. The servings were just right. This was a lovely experience!

We had a wonderful meal. The service was quick and friendly. The server was attentive and read the mood of our party perfectly. We had a great time. The Monday east coast curry special was very tasty and added a nice variety to the wood fired pizzas offered on the menu
