dbar is a full service restaurant that seamlessly transforms into a nightclub and lounge as the night goes on. Formally an old school Irish pub filled with mahogany charm, dbar has been renovated into a hip chic hot spot. With warm glowing candles & long leather banquettes, dbar offers a casual and comfortable atmosphere that attracts clientele from Dorchester and surrounding areas. The unique and classy menu inspired by Executive Chef Christopher Coombs changes with the seasons and features the finest and freshest available ingredients throughout the New England area. Most of the menu takes a French twist, but also contains an assortment of comfort foods (such as our famous Veal & Pancetta Bolognaise) and old favorites (like our simple yet delicious Giannone Chicken Under a Brick.)

Everything about dbar is excellent. We generally sit at the bar where we enjoy exquisite food and crafted cocktails. The staff and servers are friendly and professional. Just lovely.

Excellent service! Incredible actually. Menu is inventive without being pretentious. Love the parlor/lounge atmosphere. Be aware that this restaurant sometimes becomes more of a bar/nightclub (this may be on weekends) so call ahead to verify. Highly recommend.

Service was attentive and friendly. The swordfish meal was cooked to perfection. It was a perfect night to dine outside. The salmon dinner was also a very enjoyably meal. We always enjoy our experience at Dbar; we have never been disappointed when dining at this restaurant.

We had 7pm reservations and the food and service was very good. What destroyed the dinner for me was when two big screen monitors went on and played clip after clip after clip of musical numbers from Broadway and the like at a decibel that one could not carry on a conversation. It was a Tuesday night and the restaurant/bar were full, so patrons must know this and not mind. Had I known, I would not have gone.
