Della Santina's Trattoria in Sonoma, San Francisco is a traditional Italian restaruant serving recipes mostly from Lucca, Italy. It was founded by Quirico (Dan) and Shirley Della Sanitina. With the passing of Shirley Della Santina - Quirico, his son Robert and wife Nicole continue to carry on the family business and Tuscan traditions. Quirico is the chef behind the menu and has provided what's been described as Italian comfort food in a gorgeously authentic Italian setting. When you walk in the front entrance you'll be greeted by truly Italian decorations and design, as well as fresh flowers on every table.

Della Santina's offers a variety of home made pastas, antipasti, soups and salads, juicy rotisserie cooked meats and fresh seafood. Local wines from Sonoma, as well as Italian wines and beers are all featured on the wine list. Della Santina's received the 2023 Sonoma Index-Tribune People's Choice Awards for Italian Cuisine and Romantic Meal.

This was our first time back in 4 or so years. Still enjoyed the meal, the service, and the ambiance. We ordered the rotisserie duck and the duck pappardelle (special)--the duck was succulent and flavorful, pure wow! The duck pappardelle was subtle and tasty but the sauce was dry in places making it difficult to distribute the subtle sauce across the tender, nicely flavored pasta. When the waiter inquired about our meals I hadn't discovered this so didn't speak up. That said, the lefties reheated with a splash of water were quite tasty. The minestrone soup was outstanding. The tasty veggies were cut large enough to recognize and small enough to eat gracefully. The well seasoned "broth" was somewhere between thick and thin--just right. Comforting and satisfying. Already looking forward to returning.

Alway love the ambiance and the food was off the charts delicious. We had the tripe, fantastic! And the gnocchi- I’m drooling thinking of it now. We also had Rob help us with the wine pairing and he did not fail us. Such a perfect meal and can’t wait for our next date night. Thank you Della.

Over priced. The Papadelle was $39 and it’s $24 in Petaluma. Way too expensive. This isn’t a five star restaurant in San Francisco. Service was slow

Classically prepared Italian fare, generous portions, friendly staff and lovely outdoor ( covered) patio. We definitely will be back and take our foodie friends.

The bread was stale and hard. The petrale sole dore was mushy and flavorless. The potatoes were burned and hard, and the vegetables were al dente and flavorless. The brick patio was plain. There was a nice room upfront that had white tablecloth. I’m not sure that would’ve made the food taste any better…

Best waiter we’ve had in years! Very professional and on top of his game! Food was outstanding. We all raved about the vongole, lasagna and the fresh fish special!!!
