It all began with a love story and a dream. Linwood, a chef, and Ellen, a reporter, met 36 years ago in a restaurant of course! They married and began to envision that someday they would open a restaurant of their own. The restaurant’s first business plan was written at their dining room table on an electric typewriter. In 1988 Linwoods opened its doors, and it has been a labour of love for more than thirty years.

Linwoods’ cuisine consists of the freshest ingredients, and inventive preparation. Our service is warm and attentive. We have developed a reputation for consistency an attention to detail. These qualities are key to our catering business as well. Our team has worked hard to connect to our community, and we value our customers. These values have been central to Ellen and Linwood’s vision, and we hope are felt by our customers each day.

The experience from walking into the door to cocktails in the bar, to sitting down in the fire warmed brick room of the restaurant, with glistening crystal wine glasses and crisp white table cloths, to amazing food and warm friendly impeccable service was an elevated experience to remember. This is what i remembered from past experiences that had wavered on my last visit two years ago. I am so happy to see the elevated level of service, impeccable food and incredible inviting feeling return to Antrim. We will be back. thank you Antrim for a wonderful holiday memory

We have one major focus: the popular German street food - schnitzel. We also have wursts made by local German meat market legend, Binkert's (Rosedale, MD). Other partnerships include a Black Forest Ice Cream Sandwich by Scoop & Paddle (Clarksville, MD).

We use fresh meats and vegetables, never frozen. The pretzels are made by hand by an Army vet who learned to make pretzels in Germany after his service. The sauces are made from scratch. Our cocktail program features both popular and obscure German spirits. The wine program consists of small-production family-owned wineries in Germany and Austria. Beer offerings include a healthy diet of imported German beers and local breweries who make German-style brews.

We had a delicious meal. I enjoyed my filet mignon and creme brulee dessert. Our server (Josh) and his trainee (Camille) were wonderful. With the ambience of the historic home, delicious food, and kind staff we will definitely be back.
