In our charming neighborhood restaurant, we serve seasonal American dishes, inspired by elm’s farmers and fishmongers, and on occasion, a far away place.
Elm is the showcase for the inventive and seasonally inspired cuisine. Service & food were great but, as the restaurant was packed, there was no need to play loud music. It was difficult to hear our guests across the table.

I asked our Server for a suggestion from the menu. She suggested the burger - said it was the ‘best in Town’ and being from the West Coast I laughed at the ‘pun’ on the animal style of the In n Out Burger. I ordered it medium rare - it arrived well done accompanied by cold fries. The 2 hosts acknowledged the error as our Server was busy at delivery. She later swung by, saw it was overcooked and sent out more french fries—- my guests were enjoying their chicken and ribs so there was not time to ‘re-cook’ the best burger in New Canaan. Sad to say —- NO vote from me…..

Food was wonderful as was the service. It’s a little expensive so won’t be returning for everyday but for a special occasion it is great!

We had a perfect lunch outside. The menu was quite large and the food was very good. The town of New Canaan was very attractive.
