It was a wonderful dining experience. The food was exceptionally delicious with great recommendations from our bar tender. The level of service was top notch and made us feel extra special as we were celebrating an anniversary. I highly recommend Emmer & Rye because of their amazing food, attention to detail, ambiance, and out of this world service.

Everything about this restaurant is immaculate. The food, the service, and the ambiance were all fantastic. One of the best meals I’ve ever had, especially the caccio e pepe. We will definitely be back!

On top of a subpar NYE Pre Fixe menu, the pacing of the food and the service given was not conducive to a fun time overall. Furthermore, they decided to charge a 20% auto-gratuity that calculated tip after tax. When I brought it up, they didn’t do anything about it to apologize.

The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. We reserved a table for two to celebrate my husband's birthday, which was New Years Eve. They were on a prefixe menu - The first two courses were amazing, however the entrees were dull and lacked flavor. The dessert was disgusting. I was very disappointed at the food and service for a $450 bill. They automatically charged a 20% gratuity without disclosing at the time of the reservation, which was also not earned. They didn't even bother to acknowledge his birthday. For this price, they could have scribbled "Happy Birthday" in chocolate sauce on a plate and called it a day.

Service felt rushed! They want you to order everything upfront. Of course, doing that our appetizer came out before our bottle of wine was even delivered to the table. We waited approximately 10 minutes for our appetizer to cool waiting on our bottle of wine. And then, of course, before we even finished our appetizer or entrée came out. That was my concern with ordering everything upfront, 90% of the time this is what happens. You do feel rushed. We didn't even finish half the bottle of wine by the time we finished our entrée and took the rest of the wine back with us to our hotel. And enjoy the evening at the bar there. Absolutely fantastic food. The whole staff works together, trying to rush the tables in and out to get the tables turned. And then doing so it rushes your evening and of course feels like you're being rushed through your meal. And then like I said once again, majority of the time it's done like that food, overlaps, etc. We made reservations well in advance looking forward to the evening, doing our staycation in town. We will eat at the barn next time or they don't rush you! The food is fantastic, but sitting at the tables you will feel rushed. I saw that with the guest around me too. Sad to take such an amazing restaurant that has done so well over the years and turn it into a tourist spot trying to turn tables. So if you're looking for an evening, where you can enjoy the evening having a bottle of wine and maybe two throughout your dinner with appetizers that are fantastic and entrées that are amazing, this is not the place for you.

Stellar menu and amazing service! Johnny cakes, butter trio with sourdough, pappardelle, and cacio e pepe were all amazing! My cut of wagyu was a bit tough but the potato mousse accompaniment was marvelous. Will definitely go back! I recommend sitting at the counter to see the kitchen operation at work!

I will say when I looked at the menu nothing really jumped out, lots of the ingredients sounded foreign to me. To say I was contemplating walking out. However, once waiter came I was just going to stick it out and see. We blindly ordered food just by what waiter recommended and we were pleasantly surprised. Everything we ordered was amazing! I would highly recommend this place.

I was honestly super unenthused by the Austin food scene… until I went to Emmer & Rye! Holy mother of all things culinary. Trust me. Eat here.
