   I was disappointed with the overall quality of food at Fable Kitchen. We tried two dishes: the Traditional Eggs Benny and the Smash Burger. While the hollandaise sauce on the Benny was nice, the potatoes served with it were dry, over-salted, and not enjoyable. The Smash Burger, unfortunately, was a letdown as well. It was served pink, and the ground beef lacked any seasoning, making it extremely bland and tasteless. The timing of our visit also contributed to a less-than-pleasant experience. Our reservation was at 1:45pm, but we arrived just 5 minutes late, and I received a call from the restaurant asking where we were. To make matters worse, the kitchen closed at 2pm, which made the entire experience feel rushed and less enjoyable. On top of that, we were seated next to a frame that fell off the wall and almost hit me, which honestly felt like a sign that we maybe shouldn’t have eaten there in the first place. Overall, I expected more in terms of both food quality and service. Based on this visit, we won’t be returning for lunch or brunch anytime soon.

   The lunch was something… Food was still good but for the price, the ingredient selection is questionable. Looking forward to trying the dinner.

   Excellent food, service and ambience. Pear salad, chicken cutlet, duck and chocolate budino dessert were delicious.

   Superb service. I was struggling with the parking app and running a few minutes late. They were very understanding and even made change for me so I could feed the meter, old school. lol. The daily special benedict was yummy and I appreciated the server asking how I wanted my egg cooked. When I asked for hot sauce, I was gifted a rack of three to choose from. My friend enjoyed her hamburger as well.

   Fable just became my favourite brunch spot in the city. Great portions, flavour and immaculate service. I recommend the classic Benny with the pork belly - so delicious and satisfying. 10/10 would recommend if you are looking for a cozy but lively setting :)

   Went during Dine Out Vancouver, appetizers were lack lustre, main courses had good flavours but unfortunately fish arrived cold. The lamb shank was tough and difficult to cut, potatoe purée was also cold. Service was friendly and the ambience was great if a bit noisy. It was very busy so perhaps the entrees sat too long before coming to the table. Had been looking forward to the meal but left disappointed.

   We had a great time and the food was fabulous. Enjoyed being the first there as it opened for the evening. Great ambience and the servers were fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

    First time eating at Fable Kitchen (1944 W 4th Ave., Vancouver, BC). Cosy environment with an easy ambience and very pleasant serving staff. Menu was the Dine-out-Vancouver special for that day with choice of appetizer, main and dessert. I was supremely pleased with the my main (the lamb shank). The appetizer (roasted rutabaga) was delicious but the presentation was a bit plain. My chosen dessert was the chocolate bodino (an italian pudding). This was my first time trying it... likely to be the last. All told, very happy with the experience. Will return to try new items in the future.
