We waited for nearly an hour to receive our pre-booked afternoon teas. One of the teas (for two) had marge, not butter for the scones and we were told there was no more clotted cream either. Hot water for the second cup of tea from the pot would have been a nice touch. We have been keeping this as a family tradition for the last seven years, but sadly today was disappointing.

We booked a table for drinks only so ignore the food stars! We were given a table by the window then when they read that I’d requested a sofa table we were moved, good! Just one poor guy behind the bar, he was struggling to serve all the afternoon tea requests and coffees and teas. Obviously we wanted cocktails. We had to wait a while for them. (It was 2:30 in the afternoon). I had thought that since we’d booked a table we would get table service but no, the guy behind the bar was left on his own to do everything. There was a very important looking woman walking around with an open laptop in there hand but she was obviously far too important to notice let alone help the poor guy serving us mere customers. Probably had some really important management meeting to go to to discuss how they could get more money out of us. Having said all that, the cocktails were very good, unfortunately the only table service was me going back and forth from bar to table. By the time I sat down to drink my cocktail it wasn’t at its best. I gave myself a good tip though! Happy Christmas Falstaff Hotel and give the barman more help and a rise!

We had such a lovely afternoon tea at the Falstaff to venerate a birthday. We were given a glass of bubbly on the house for the celebration which was kind. The food was great, adapted for one gluten free . The waitress Sarah was so lovely and attentive, even though she covering everything on her own. She wowed us and we had a lovely experience.

Went for birthday afternoon tea. Tea arrived quickly but with no sugar. No one around to ask so husband went to the bar. Waiter just standing chatting to another staff member. Asked for sugar, he said he would bring it over. Husband poured his tea. 15 mins later still no sugar. Tea now cold, husband went back to bar waiter still chatting and admitted he had forgotten!! Asked for another pot of tea which arrived quickly but 10 mins later waiter asked us if he had given us the tea as he could not remember won’t be going again ever.

The staff could not be less attentive. We arrived early for afternoon tea and found the staff so poor that we walked out and went elsewhere. They did not check on us once and when we asked for the table to be cleaned they didn’t even bother. I would avoid.

Very disappointing. No real welcome on arrivall although booked a table. Not enough bar staff. Service slow. Could not make a Pina Colada as don’t have cream on site. House cocktail menu was limited. Over priced

Lovely food, really good gluten free afternoon tea option. Drinks options on bottomless brunch were great, loads of choice. Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Only thing I felt was a little much was the service charge, but we did get good service so paid it.

Went for my husbands birthday for an afternoon tea. Staff were very disorganised and we were truly disappointed with the service and food. Sandwiches which they had ‘put together’because chef had gone home early, the tiniest scones in the world and disappointing tiny dry cake. I was expecting far more and not worth the money.
