Skull Creek Dockside Restaurant, dropped its anchor in the Fall of 2017 and forever changed the culinary landscape of the Lowcountry. In early 2017 the partners of the restaurant began to transform it into their vision for Hilton Head's newest waterfront dining destination. This restaurant, which resembles an old-style river house, is full of authentic architecture, reclaimed wood, and nautical accents that leave you feeling like you've stepped into a Melville novel. The sweeping waterfront view is showcased by full pane glass windows throughout the restaurant which you can enjoy no matter where you dine. The covered patio dining area, and massive outdoor bar, the shark bar, allows patrons to enjoy the Lowcountry climate and serve to further highlight the amazing sunset views over skull creek. If you are concerned about long wait times, the good news is the restaurant accepts reservations and provides a family recreation area between dockside and boathouse. Kids and adults can enjoy a variety of games, the very popular shark bar and 'shrimp boat' playground. Kids can play while families are waiting for a table, or simply enjoying the amazing waterfront views.

Gusto Ristorante is a Northern Italian restaurant with a touch of the South at the Sea Turtle Marketplace in Hilton Head Island.The executive chef and owner Giancarlo Balestra with his wife Nancy bring the vibrant flavors of his native hometown of Rome, Italy to Hilton Head. The couple who met in Rome 28 years ago discovered their shared passion for food and adventure and have since owned and operated restaurants in Aspen, Co, Winter Park, Fla and Saratoga Springs, NY. They fell in love with Hilton Head and decided to jump into this new exciting culinary adventure, hence the name Gusto, which means flavor and taste in Italian but also means a zest and enthusiasm for a delicious taste of life.     It was a great dinner as always for Thanksgiving with friends. Only complaints - kept asking the server for more water, and she finally gave me more the 3rd time. Also, when the guy brought our desserts he wouldn’t take our main course plates. There was no room for all of this at our table so we put them at another table. Eventually someone came to get them. We told our server, and she didn’t seem to care.

    Ordered the halibut and the ravioli. Both were good. The halibut was just a touch dry but still good. Also had the duck prosciutto salad and the octopus. Both were amazing. Loved the half off bottle of wine selection. Our servers were excellent and attentive. Loved that I never had to pour my own wine or water. Can’t wait to go back.

    Excellent food! Classic Italian and absolutely perfect in every way. Smaller restaurant, loud when full which it was. Took a little to get our check, but it felt like they didn't want to disturb us not that we were ignored..and they were very busy. Def coming back next visit.
