Rocky Bottoms started out as an 1800s brick kiln with a purpose to fire bricks. Eventually the brick kiln was unable to compete with larger competitors and closed down after WW2. Since this time the brick kiln has offered itself as agricultural storage until it collapsed and stood derelict. In 2008 the brick kiln’s potential and need of restoration was spotted by local fishing family; The Matthews. After years of love and attention, Rocky Bottoms, as we know it today was born. Our doors opened in May 2015, just in time for the start of the crab season. We deliver local shellfish from pot to plate in a laid back environment. Rocky Bottoms believes in enjoying the simpler things in life!

Good choice of vegetarian and meat/fish options. On a Sunday Sunday lunch is added onto the evening menu. The Binham Blue starter was delicious. My wife had the nut roast, with all the trimmings, I had the Sunday special local mussels in a white wine and cream sauce, with bread to mop up the juices. We shared a triple chocolate brownie which was nice moist, served with ice cream and a hot chocolate sauce. Excellent service from the two young and enthusiastic waiter/waitress. Would thoroughly recommend.

This restaurant was recommended so we travelled the 40 minutes to get to it. The staff on arrival were really smiley and welcoming. The service was prompt and again all the staff were smiley. They were able to give good recommendations as to the different sauces with the lobster. The food was delicious including the salad that came with it. We sat in the conservatory which was comfortable and warm. Price wise we were surprised that it wasn’t as expensive as I would have imagined especially as we both had lobster. Altogether a great experience. We will be back

Lovely restaurant, great ambiance, amazing food. Starters are little expensive, but everything else well worth the money. Only thing I’d say is service is very quick between courses. As soon as starter is cleared main course is there. It just made what was a romantic evening go a bit fast

Lovely meal after a long walk at Blickling Hall. Warm and welcoming with our 4 dogs . The food was delicious, our party had fish and chips, the plaice schnitzel and sausage and mash. They were all served piping hot and very generous portions.
