Gin & Cocktail Bar The original 1840s sandstone walls of the building Frank Mac’s now occupies a 120-person capacity bar which flows from outdoor seating on George Street, across two levels and into a back courtyard. Whereas the downstairs space feels cosy and intimate, dotted with vintage leather banquettes, dark jade and light orange velvet armchairs, low tables and a fireplace, the ground level you’ll walk into off George Street will reflect the energy of the bartenders working behind the almost five-metre-long oak bar. The food was amazing. We had squid, fries and heirloom tomatoes., all of which was incredible. Also had the truffle pasta which was nice not quite as flavourful as I expected.

We had an excellent lunch today. The octopus was presented with a delightful charred flavour, adding a smoky depth that was simply irresistible. The snapper was sweet and juicy, perfectly cooked, and seasoned to perfection, standing in stark contrast to the often tasteless and dry fish found elsewhere. The strawberry Eton mess was beautifully presented and perfectly balanced, ending the meal on a high note. Overall, this restaurant truly deserves its high reputation.

Felt welcomed. Service was excellent!! Attentive. Food came out fast. Was delicious!! Only thing was had afew flies that were already inside so that was super annoying shooing them away when you were trying to eat your meal.
