Best Casual Restaurants in Glasgow

Always such a good atmosphere in the smoking fox. Met up with work colleagues from down south who loved the vibe.

Booked the Wowcher afternoon tea which was great. We decided to treat ourselves to a chocolate orange espresso martini which was made to perfection. The staff were genuinely friendly, very helpful and efficient.

Perfect for a pre gig meal. Bloody brilliant service and the food came really quick. Will definitely go back as I want to try just about everything else on the menu and take a good stab at their reasonably priced cocktail menu. To have it all accompanied by a soundtrack of KISS, Mötley Crue and Led Zep made it the best Monday tea I think I've ever had!

We had an outstanding meal at Madurai. This South Indian restaurant offers many dishes that are different from a typical Indian restaurant in the States. The Sweetcorn Vada starter, Pollicha Salmon, and Lamb Mapas were particular standouts. The restaurant is now licensed, so we were able to compliment our meal with Kingfisher on draught. The service is warm and helpful. It was a lovely experience from start to finish. The dining room was rather empty on a Friday evening, so I hope that this review brings more people to this Glasgow gem.

Great location, decor and the service is great and the food is very very tasty. My only nitpick is my first order of the chicken was very underwhelming portion size. I accept my appetite is greater than the average person but one small chicken breast doesn’t feel like great value. I had to order another main course (which was excellent). Other than that I had a wonderful experience!
