Best Casual Restaurants in Kentish Town

I’ve been going to St John in Smithfield for about 25 years. It’s still just perfect. The people who work there have a beautiful balance of knowing they are lucky to be part of that legacy but equally that they are what makes it so great. Brilliant staff. Brilliant food. Brilliant wine. I still love it.

Had an absolutely incredible meal - the burger is famous for a reason! The sneaky winner was the winter tomatoes, though. One person in our party deemed them “the best tomato they’ve ever had”. Thank you to our wonderful waitresses also for preparing the cake we brought as it was our friend’s birthday! Very kind and accommodating. 10/10 meal & service.

We had an excellent experience today for lunch. Friendly prompt service and delightful interesting dishes to choose from the blackboard menu. Wine was offered by the glass - it was reasonably priced and a good selection. We enjoyed sharing all of the dishes and in particular loved the crab. Many thanks.

We really enjoyed our experience there and will go back next time we're in London. The Crackling Spinach was absolutely outstanding and one of the best vegetable dishes I've ever had. My obnly regret is that we didn't try more items on the menu, but we were so full we just couldn't eat another bite. The service was excellent and we felt very appreciated.
