Best Casual Restaurants in Lake Forest

Puesto is the best. The food is very, very good in my opinion. The drinks are also very, very good. My girlfriend and I normally go to the one in Anaheim, but wanted to go to the Irvine Spectrum and decided to go to this location instead of trying Chaak Kitchen, because you can never go wrong with Puesto! The food was great, the ceviche was flavorful, the enchiladas suizas were great as well. The server was polite and very kind, just a little forgetful. We ordered the ceviche and esquite as appetizers, then a watermelon margarita and a holiday champagne ponche (which my gf was excited to try but they did not end up being able to make so we switched it to a passion fruit mule) and both drinks were great as well! However, our server forgot to ring in the esquite because we received the ceviche and then the enchiladas but had to ask for the esquite. The drinks took about 10 minutes to hit the table. When we asked about the esquite we asked for limes, as the Puesto in Anaheim gives out limes with their enchiladas and here they didn’t but not a big deal we can just ask for some. Well the esquite eventually came out but the limes never did asks I just tried to squeeze as much out of the lime wheel from the watermelon margarita onto my gf’s enchiladas (lol). Regardless of the hiccups, the food and drinks were great, the patio is super nice, and even though there were little details missing, our server at the end of the day was very polite and kind. Working in the industry I understand these things sometimes unintentionally happen and it’s ok, I will continue eating at Puesto, in my opinion the food is worth the price and everyone there has always been very nice.

Enjoyed an evening out with husband. Brooklyn is such a caring and wonderful server. So appreciate her suggestions for entrees and cocktails. We started with Ginbo (Gin Drink) and Nutmeg Drink. We enjoyed their seasonal mushroom bisque soup. Let me just say, if you like mushrooms this is a perfect starter for the season! This is a flavorful soup! Well done Chef- you nailed it! We had split a bowl mushroom soup, famous vinegar, and goat cheese butter lettuce salad. Husband had the rib eye steak a d I had the famous chicken smite with pumpkin spatzle. Dessert was crème brisket with berries. Great evening friends. Love this gem!
