Best Casual Restaurants in Overland Park

Our Server Ryan was amazing, he was very professional & courteous! Our party spent a long time catching up & he didn’t get bothered by us staying even after close. The food was absolutely delicious & my best friend even received free beignets for her Birthday. I will definitely be coming back to visit!

We go here for our pre thanksgiving meal the day before and every time they knock it out of the park! Between the cocktails and the perfectly cooked to temp steaks we love this place!

Excellent pear bruschetta.... Something I've never seen anywhere else. This was our first time going for lunch. The Italian-style grilled cheese and truffle fries were perfect with the San Marzano soup. Portions at lunch are still giant so I recommend splitting with someone.

This was the first time my wife and I had been to J. Gilbert's and it was a wonderful experience. I had the Kansas City strip; it was juicy and very flavorful; one of the best steaks I've ever had. My wife had the crab cakes and loved them. Only one downside in the whole meal; the crab bisque soup was just too salty! I should have sent it back. The desserts were very tasty and presented so nicely. I had the chocolate fudge cake; it was soooo good! Service was impecable! We will definitely be back to J Gilbert's.

The restaurant is in a beautiful space. The seating was comfortable, our waitress attentive but not intrusive. The food was fabulous. We both started with an excellent cup of crab chowder. My entree was the scallops in a stew base. I loved it and would definitely recommend. My husband had two small plates instead of an entree, their version of a wedge salad and an Ahi Tuna Tostada. He liked both. We shared a chocolate dessert that was awesome. The only caution is a high noise level. It did not impair our enjoyment but we did lean in to speak across the table. All in all, an enjoyable evening.
