Avelo Restaurant is located in a heritage townhouse on a quiet street in Yorkville and serves some of the city's finest plant-based cuisine. Have wanted to try this restaurant for a long time. Each dish was beautifully presented, showcasing a variety of flavors, colors, and textures. Surprisingly, the dishes incorporated a lot of Asian flavors paired with French techniques. Most of the dishes were excellent and unique, though there were a couple of misses. The service was good, with attentive staff. The ambiance was decent and comfortable, not suffocating or uncomfortable at all. Overall, I enjoyed my time and dinner here.

This is the first time my husband and I did an 8 course tasting. With incredibly knowledgable staff, mind blowing and complex food, this was a night to remember. When a taste can bring you back to your childhood (much like what happened in Ratatouille), it’s nothing I had ever experienced anywhere else. Even as a non vegetarian, I did not miss the absence of meat. A must “go-to”.

Food and service was wonderful. Such a gem in our neighborhood. We were going to the Theater and they made sure we would have plenty of time to enjoy our dinner and be on time for the Theater. I would highly recommend Bumpkins
