Established in 1959, owners Jenny Youll and Mike Sabina expanded the once small coffeehouse of St. Michaels Alley into this intimate dining establishment in 2009. The restaurant provides three comfortable spaces for a dinner out with friends, date night, or a complete private event. The main dining room is wood paneled and intimate. The front room / bar area is more casual and social, yet still offers tables with linens and the full menu. The solid wood bar is a favorite dining spot for many of the regulars and locals. A beautiful outdoor patio is most enjoyable on warm summer days and nights as it open to the sky. The service was top in terms of attention, gracious, friendly welcome, quick to respond to any request and cozy delightful venue! A real gem in Palo Alto. Our favorite to have a lovely meal!     Our dinner and service was outstanding from start to finish. A gracious greeting from our server offering us a varied menu with tempting specials. We dined in a lovely, quiet room not bothered by loud music or noisy patrons We started with a nice kale salad and followed with scallops and the duck special -- both tasty, attractive and perfectly prepared. We finished with hot coffee and an excellent tiramisu. Very reasonably priced for the quality of everything we received

    Great spot for school meet-up with parents and kids. Just had a high school gathering at The Post with about 20 people—everything was set up on time and run smoothly, the staff was super attentive. It wasn’t quiet enough for easy conversation with a group this size. Definitely recommend!

    This was a special family reunion, and my intuition about this place was correct. The food and service were as advertised, if not even better. The gently connected indoor and outdoor areas provides excellent flexibility with seating, bringing pets and so on. Specifically, the variety in the Sunday Brunch menu was outstanding, the quality of the food was exceptional, and the service provided by the waitress was a 10 out of 10. Highly recommend this place for a party of 1 or a party of 10 !
