- EendersonlinePortland / Oregon •35 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoWe sat at the chef's counter with a great view into the tiny kitchen, which was an experience in itself. No wonder the food is so good because that's one peaceful, harmonious and efficient kitchen. The service stands out at L'Orange for enthusiasm and personal attention. Our server, Erica, was so lovely and that last time I was there I also had an amazing server. We ordered the mushroom broth-based French onion soup, which was my daughter's favorite due to the garlic bread pudding - custardy texture against the crispiness of the cheese - and the intricate, delicious flavors. I had (for the second time) gnocchi which does not fail to delight due to the pillowy texture and layers of sauces and flavors. Dessert must include the orange cake because the flavor of natural orange is strong and pleasant. Again with the textures: burnt sugar crust, moist cake, cardamon icing and orange gelee. So many flavors to mix and match on the fork. We also had the white chocolate mousse with layers of cake and cranberry. So good. We'll be back for the service, the food and the sweet ambiance.More infoL'OrangePrice: Very Expensive• Mediterranean• SE Portland•4.9
- JJenniferPortland / Oregon •1 review5.0Dined on 14 Dec 2024Took my mom and husband to Afternoon Tea for a holiday celebration and it was great. The restaurant confirmed with me three times that they could accommodate my mom's food allergy ahead of time and her choices were excellent. The service and ambiance were outstanding and the food was delicious. My one wish is that it were just a bit quieter for conversation, but the noise level was still reasonable for a full restaurant. We ill definitely return for Afternoon Tea and I hope they consider offering it year round.More infoGracie's - PortlandPrice: Moderate• Regional American (Northwest)• SW Portland•4.2
- SStephenPortland / Oregon •18 reviews5.0Dined on 10 Dec 2024This is a REAL Italian Restaurant. My wife and I only know of a few in the area and this is one of them. Just because a restaurant serves pizza and pasta does not make it an Italian Restaurant. This one has a menu featuring many real Italian dishes including Italian desserts and Italian cocktails and wine, even Grappa! The service was prompt and courteous, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was wonderful. We arrived an hour before our reservation but was promptly seated anyway. I really don't understand why anyone would give this restaurant less than 5 stars. We found free street parking right in front on the restaurant. But if you can't find street parking, there are two pay parking lots right across the street. We are adding this place to our list of favorite Italian Restaurants and I'm sure will be returning many times in the future.More infoMama Mia TrattoriaPrice: Moderate• Contemporary Italian• Downtown•4.2
