Best Cosy Restaurants in Carmel

We were so delighted to be able to dine in the bar room. It was just the 3 of us and quiet, which made it really nice to have conversation throughout our dinner. So many restaurants pipe in music and the noise level is untenable. What a treat! BTW, the food was outstanding. I recommend the lamb shank.

We dine here often. Every time we’re in Carmel from SF. A must for us. Today we also had lunch outside. Always a pleasure. I must say the wait staff could be quicker once seated. Bringing water and a menu for lunch. Love PortaBella.

This is the second time I have visited this establishment. Food, service and ambiance was great! Excellent mushroom raviolis, artichoke and beet salad was wonderful!

On our most recent visit, something truly heartwarming happened—someone paid for our meal. It was an unexpected and beautiful moment, one that only added to the magic that Mission Bistro creates. It’s a place that attracts good people, fosters kindness, and reminds us of the joy that comes from sharing a meal with those we love. We can’t say enough good things about this place. The food was excellent, homemade fresh pasta and delicious sauces. Would definitely return for the food; however, the noise level was horrible. It’s a small, quaint place with only a few tables inside and we were seated next to a large party (which took up 85% of the dining room) who were loud, rude, and drunk. The food was lovely but our table couldn’t even hear eachother or the waitress. If you go, request to sit outside or your ears will be ringing by the end of your meal!
