Found in the heart of the Brighton Lanes and run by the charismatic Brighton restaurateur, Coco Cowan, Coco's Bistro is one of Brighton’s premiere seafood restaurants – though we always have a little steak for those who prefer it and will happily create something vegetarian‘off-menu’ if requested. Originally a fisherman’s cottage, Coco's Bistro has been a specialist seafood restaurant for more than 50 years. We’ve retained a traditional decorative style which helps create an intimate and comfortable atmosphere whether you’re having a simple one-course lunch or a three-course dinner. When the weather is good we also have tables outside for eating alfresco. We pride ourselves on using the best local fresh fish where possible. Besides our regular favourites such as Fish Pie our menu changes daily depending on the best of the catch from our suppliers. We also source the best, freshest locally grown produce and ingredients to use with and in our cook

In showing this building some love, local businesswoman Shoes Simes has said that she hopes to help make her pub more food-led and family-friendly. In doing so she hopes to turn this local building of historical importance into an establishment for local families and friends to enjoy together. It all started 13 years ago when she first saw the building and she knew straight away that this was the pub for her and finally her dreams have come true, with a full refurbishment, this pub is now ready to be revealed to Eastbourne in all its glory. Once functioning as an old Moot Court, eventually turning into a restaurant in the 1970s, before it boomed as a pub trading as The Rainbow. It eventually changed to The Counting House and saw a new lease of life as the garden grew to be a popular haunt of all in old town. Returning with a change of name to the older style of The Rainbow, and with it a focus on food again. For outdoor reservations, please contact the restaurant directly.

Thai Terre is located opposite the village green in the picturesque South Downs village of East Dean, close to Birling Gap and three miles west of Eastbourne. At first a Thai restaurant may seem out of keeping with the flint-walled cottages and the well-kept traditional English village common, but this pairing reflects the driving principle of Thai Terre – to take the best the South Downs can provide and add an exotic twist to create something really special.
