A restaurant, wine bar and fermenting kitchen - we're open for lunch Wednesdays to Sundays and dinner all week. Our menu changes monthly and our cooking is simple and seasonal. It's here we make all our seasonal ferments, pickles and drinks - all of which you can buy ready jarred from our fridge. Our large kitchen counter is the centrepiece, and you’re invited to grab a seat, order something to eat and enjoy the workings of life in our kitchen. Down this atmospheric alley opposite St Bartholomew church, Cloth is taking over a double fronted corner site that’s beneath the former home of poet John Betjeman and next door to the two oldest residential buildings in London. Inside, low ceilings, wood floorboards with antique wall lights and artwork create a cosy, intimate atmosphere, while marble tables, long dark wood banquettes, antique crockery and cutlery will create the feel of a classic bistro.

The Parakeet is a wonderful local, the room is buzzy and cool, the food excellent and staff great. This time, I had a guest with a number of food intolerances and our waiter and the chef annotated what would work and what can be altered. This resulted in a great meal for a difficult eater so thanks! We enjoyed the wine by the glass too as there was a wide range available. A great experience.

Very attentive and informative staff, perfectly cooked and brilliantly seasoned meat, cooked to our preferences. Generous sides packed full of flavour. Creative and delicious cocktails. We treated ourselves to the cheesecake and the grandma style serving lived up to its name. Amazingly good value overall and a delightful experience. Replicates the feeling of a decent New York steakhouse, no stuffiness, just a passion for food and looking after people.
