Chef Tim Love’s flagship restaurant, Lonesome Dove Western Bistro first opened in 2000, in Fort Worth’s Historic Stockyards District, and quickly became the city’s premiere dining establishment. Love has designed a menu influenced by all of the ingredients and cultures that have been a part of the West since the first adventure began on the Goodnight-Loving and Chisholm Trails — with an added level of modern sophistication. Love’s food at Lonesome Dove reflects his famously unique “Urban Western” cuisine, celebrating his creative uses of bold flavors and wild game, with an inventive selection of steaks and seafood to dishes such as Wagyu Tomahawk, Kangaroo Carpaccio, Rocky Mountain Elk Ribeye, Wild Boar Ribs, and Rabbit & Rattlesnake Sausage. The Lonesome Dove Western Bistro has received numerous awards and critical acclaim from Wine Spectator, Food & Wine, Zagat Survey, Southern Living, Esquire, The New York Times, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and The Dallas Morning News, and more.

Delicious food and great service! Hand cut NY strip was especially tasty. Also recommend the Elk Sliders, Texas Red Chili, and Gulf Coast crab appetizer! If you are in Fort Worth, this is a must visit.

We went on Christmas evening and everything was delicious on the planned Christmas meal. You had a choice between 4 different appetizers, salad or soup, a choice between 4 different entrees, and a choice between 3 different desserts!! It was so good with reasonable size portions. Especially the chicken fried oysters. We all had the surf and turf which was excellent. My only complaint was that the food was warm and needed to be hot and the lobster should have been served with melted butter, which I asked for. Also our server was very nice and attentive and we appreciated a place that was willing to be open on Christmas Day! Walking around the hotel and outside spaces were beautifully decorated with lights, lit fire pits, and several areas for photo opportunities. We loved it and will be back to such a tastefully decorated restaurant and hotel.

From the moment you step inside, the cozy decor sets the tone for an intimate meal. The soft lighting and attentive staff create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The highlight here is undoubtedly the chef's menu. A carefully curated selection of dishes showcases a symphony of flavors, textures, and creativity. Each course is a testament to the chef’s mastery—thoughtfully plated and bursting with seasonal ingredients that speak of quality and care. Every plate told its own story, each more delightful than the last. The dessert—a light yet decadent creation—served as the perfect finale, leaving us eager to return and explore the menu anew. With impeccable service, chef’s personality, and culinary excellence, this restaurant is a treasure for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.
