The hostess was amazing, we were seated within 5 min of our rezo and near the Jazz musician. Our waiter was Brandon, amazing experience! We had spent Valentines 2024 WG at oyster bar. This evening rather than order off the menu we wanted to try the 4 course. I don’t have a lot of experience in fine dining and 4 courses with wine pairing. Brandon was very helpful with sharing how the menu would be served this evening. The Mrs she’s used to fine dining but for an island boy from Samoa it was a new experience for me. Amazing experience and for those who may have not experienced fine dining 4 course with wine pairing just ask the your wait person for help. I’m never afraid to ask if I do not know. The fork thing, the many utensils, the different glasses, etc 😂 Definitely will plan a dinner outing for the entire family, 12 total, this summer when I’m back in town. Salute and Respects to Brandon, and the entire WG team. The Jazz musician was 🔥🔥🔥More infoWater Grill - South Coast PlazaPrice: Expensive• Seafood• Costa Mesa•4.7

The music was great, loud but not too loud where we couldn’t have a conversation. They filled up the place with many red floating balloons and looked so festive. The special Valentine’s menu was top notch with great selections no matter what diet you’re on. Service was always attentive even as crowded as they were. Great memories were made and we can’t wait to go back!More infoHabana - Costa MesaPrice: Expensive• Cuban• Costa Mesa•4.7

The owner is always there helping, the staff is always polite, and the bartender Greg even remembered us, after having not been there for about a year. Plus? The whiskey prices are so very good. This should be a model for other restaurants.More infoHaven Craft Kitchen + BarPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Orange•4.5

- RrobertOrange County •57 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoIt was a rainy night. We were met at the door by several members of staff, who handled everyone's coats and hats efficiently. This staff is excellent on every visit, and tonight was no exception. Do you avoid dining out on Valentine's day or near the 14th? Are the restuarants generally overburdened? Forget about that and dine at the Hobbit. Their routine for Valentine's day, while offering a slightly different menu, remains the same. They are not overwhelmed, because they only handle as many people as will attend one seating. The experience is preceded by a cocktail hour - then to table at 7 p.m. An amuse bouche of "three perfect bites", which are accompanied by a complimentary glass of champagne. The opening this time was a Hamachi crudo, that was plated perfectly, and delivered a wonderful amalgam of green apple, cucumber, tangerine and a tarragon oil opening. The second course, a crepe a la duck confit, worried my partner who does not favor duck. She loved the crepe and the duck confit! Very smooth and subtle. My filet with a bone marrow bordelaise was perfect, rare, as I love good beef. We accompanied our meal with an excellent 2005 Bordeau from Pauillac purchased from the well stocked wine cellar. The service was impeccable, and the entire serving staff assisted at one time or another to insure prompt service without hovering. I have been here many times, and you cannot go wrong dining at the Hobbit on any occasion.More infoThe HobbitPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary French• Orange•4.7
