The deck that wraps around the conservatory offers a rare opportunity in land-locked Oxford to dine outside with an idyllic view.     It was my first visit to the Green Oak we have wanted to go for a while and it did not disappoint. Such a lovely place we were greeted warmly and had a lovely table. The car park was busy it looked like there was a lot of people but inside it was spacious with plenty of room. The service was first class so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious beautifully cooked we had the fish and chips. It was my birthday and I was given complimentary sweet treat which was a lovely touch. I would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely return.

    We enjoyed a very nice meal for two on a Monday lunchtime. From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and friendly. The ambiance inside was lovely and the food was great. This was our first visit and we would not hesitate recommending the Chequers to friends and family. Thanks to the team for making a memorable birthday!

    From the moment we opened the door on a dark, windy, and wet night, and saw the warm light streaming out, we knew we'd made a good choice! Friendly staff, good food, dog friendly, and an all-round welcoming atmosphere.
