- EErikaEdinburgh/Midlothian •1 review5.0Dined 4 days agoLovely place. Nice and clean. Excellent food. Good atmosphere. Lovely staff. The only down side is the toilet is in a wee cabin at the side. But it's warm and clean and tidy. Highly recommend booking as it can get very busy. There's limited seating indoors. But plenty out door seating. Don't worry. There's space heaters so you don't get cold.More infoDown the Hatch - South QueensferryPrice: Expensive• Canadian• Edinburgh•4.6

- SStuartEdinburgh/Midlothian •1 review5.0Dined 7 days agoAt the time of writing (January 2025) circumnavigating the partial demolition of Ocean Terminal demands some careful footwork and traffic awareness. When you go, as you surely will, allow time to walk along Whisky Quay to appreciate the immediacy of Leith's port and continuous naval history. 520 years after the Great Michael - to be the largest ship afloat - was commissioned, the Port of Leith now welcomes vessels many times its size. Entering the Port of Leith Distillery, like Alice entering the rabbit-hole, or the wardrobe leading to Narnia, is mildly disconcerting. On the ground floor, the concierge directs arrivals to the lift - the only item of note - with its limited choice of destinations. Tumbling out on the 8th floor opens up new vistas surrounding the Port. The Bar is lit in the modern style, highlighting the double-height wall of whiskies. After being seated, look forward to taking a few minutes to read the book of enticing words - 'menu' doesn't do it justice. Already, you may find yourself starting to plan a return trip to try some of the dishes visible on other diners' plates. The 'flights' are an ideal introduction to manoeuvring through the myriad whisky choices. Excellent informed advice and service, from Cora, made our selection possible. And, later, an extra 'flight' instead of dessert!More infoPort of Leith DistilleryPrice: Moderate• Scottish• Edinburgh•4.7
