Best Family Style Restaurants in Downtown

We celebrated my husband's birthday in Acquafarina and it was a great experience: great service, tasty food, and fantastic vibe. They even had a live violin performance.

First time visiting this restaurant with 3 other friends. Overall the food was good but wish there were more than 2 meat/seafood options. We ended up just ordering 3 appetizers and 1 pasta and left to complete our dinner at another restaurant. Service was efficient and welcoming and so no complaints there. Do miss the former occupant, Autostrada that had a more varied menu and our group agreed tasted better. We may give it another go in the near future if the meat/seafood entree options expands.

I have only eaten steak here which has been fabulous and this time I went for seafood in the form of Garlic Shrimp and Fresh Oysters. The Garlic Shrimp were quite large and very filling especially if you order sides (I ordered Field Mushrooms and Asparagus). The sauce was buttery and perfectly garlicky and one thing I should have done which I will do for next time is save some of the Cheese Toast to soak up the rest of the sauce because they were very generous with it! Or get a side of potatoes to enjoy the sauce with! I was here on my own and my server John was attentive in just the right amounts and provided the perfect amount of small talk while leaving me to read my book. While I usually come here with my husband, I would definitely come back to Gotham for another solo date as everyone in the restaurant from the hostess to server made me feel at ease. Everyone was so intuitive and the hospitality level is like no other. Thank you for a wonderful night!

Our visit to Nightingale was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we walked in, the service and ambiance set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The food was beyond incredible—each dish was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. A special shoutout to our server, Colwyn, who truly made the evening special. He was not only attentive and caring but also incredibly thoughtful with his recommendations. His warm and welcoming demeanor made our first meal in Vancouver a highlight of our trip. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to our time here. Thank you, Colwyn, and the entire team at Nightingale for such a memorable experience. We’ll be back! The waitress was impatient when we still need time to order. The manager was nice and helpful, giving us suggestions on the choices. The oyster was fine and fresh. The octopus was great! The salmon was very soft.
