Bodega SF is an evolution of Matthew Ho’s family's restaurant, Bodega Bistro, which operated from 2003-2017 out of San Francisco’s Tenderloin District, serving traditional Northern Vietnamese cuisine. I have probably eaten here 7-8 times, but this was my first time back since they closed and reopened. The anchovy toast here is simply one of the best things out there, and I had a number of other tasty dishes as well (the baked oysters and the smoked trout were particular favorites). I was dining alone, and they set me up at a nice quiet counter and let me do half-portions of some dishes so that I could try more things. I always appreciate them, and had another great experience.
