It was a lovely experience - not inexpensive, but since it's not an everyday outing, that was fine. The room was beautiful, the food was very good, the tea selection was excellent and the service was outstanding. However, it IS Denver and it DOES get cold here in the winter; it was uncomfortable in the atrium and most people kept their coats and scarves on. It's too bad the Brown Palace Hotel hasn't figured out a way to combat the frigid outdoor temperatures better. Since we 'dressed up' for the occasion, it was a shame to have to keep our outerwear on the whole time. Overall, a fun experience.More infoThe Grand Atrium at the Brown PalacePrice: Very Expensive• Afternoon Tea• Downtown / LoDo•4.4

From the moment we arrived, the welcoming staff and warm, refined atmosphere made us feel instantly relaxed and ready to enjoy the evening. We started our meal with the pan-seared crab cakes, a standout dish with a beautifully crisp exterior and tender, flavorful filling. The accompanying remoulade sauce provided a tangy complement that tied everything together. Next came the iceberg wedge salad—a timeless classic. The crisp lettuce, smoky bacon, juicy tomatoes, and rich blue cheese dressing combined for a perfectly balanced and refreshing starter. For the main course, we selected the Niman Ranch Chateau. Cooked to perfection, this tender cut of beef was served alongside creamy garlic mashed potatoes and lobster mac-n-cheese. Every bite was rich, satisfying, and expertly prepared. Throughout the evening, the service was flawless. The staff offered thoughtful wine pairings, ensuring every dish was perfectly complemented. Their attention to detail made the experience even more enjoyable. Hideaway Steakhouse delivers more than just a meal—it’s a serene escape where every element is carefully crafted to delight the senses. We left feeling thoroughly satisfied and eager to return for another visit.More infoHideaway SteakhousePrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Westminster•4.8

(I still miss that and would love to sit at the bar once again with a pasta and cocktail.) But, the tasting experience today is outstanding. All killer no filler when it comes to the courses, with many highlights (Dungeness, pasta, both bison dishes, sorbet course and squab). Service was warm and provided an appropriate amount of explanation. Will definitely be returning.More infoThe Wolf's TailorPrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary American• Sunnyside•4.8
