Our menu is inspired by the Mexican regions of Yucatán, Oaxaca, and Veracruz. We strive to respect the influences and traditions of these diverse cultures to bring you food that is uniquely El Jefe. We are not your average Mexican joint, rather a reflection of our environment and beliefs. We hand make our tortillas every day. All of our pork comes from one whole hog. Our chefs breakdown the whole animal, for chorizo, appetizers, stocks, soups, and entrees. Nothing is wasted. We do this out of respect for the animal and for the people who raised them for us. Anything we can produce in our kitchen is done by us, with love. No frills, just good food. We do an amazing brunch on the weekends, and by default or menu is nearly 100% gluten free.

    Delicious food. Loved the deep fried artichoke’s!Fun atmosphere, nice crowd. Lots of action but still very easy to talk and hear my friends. They brought me a free birthday dessert, very nice touch. Great waitress, very friendly. Will definitely go back.

    Food was yummy & had lots of vegan options. Everything was well seasoned & the menu was thoughtful. Staff was great, our server Connor was so lovely and came around the perfect amount of times. It was very loud, which made conversation a bit difficult. I also loved the funky bathrooms! We ordered several dishes & drinks & everything was fresh, tasted great, and presented well. Overall very good experience, just packed and loud :)

    The vegetarian sliders hit the spot. The sweet potato fries and dip were delicious and cooked just right. The lentil soup was a fantastic change with the apple chutney in it. Over great experience and would recommend!

    Finding this gem of a restaurant made this foodie girl smile...the mussels were meaty and tasty and yes I used my spoon to slurp up the incredible sauce. The duo of lamb and the bison were two dishes that were shared since they both needed to be tried and the main part of the dish was beyond flavorful and the sides that accompanied were the perfect pairing. Our waiter was friendly and answered our questions and the whole vibe was perfect....and don't forget to try one of their insanely creative cocktails. Duo is on my radar from now on when a staycation is Denver is planned

    I took my husband here for his birthday. We had a lovely time. Everything was fantastic! Excellent service with Kiki, wonderful fresh food, incredible tea selection add the place was decked out for Valentine’s Day. Adorable!
