“In Syrian culture, we can’t make any journey without first planning the food. If you decide to go to the cinema, you plan what you’ll eat. If you plan to visit your mother, you know that you’re going to eat. There’s no going out without eating something.”-Imad AlarnabImad Alarnab was a successful restaurateur in Damascus with three restaurants, plus several juice bars and cafes. In the war, Imad's restaurants were destroyed and he was forced to flee the country in search of safety for his family. Making his way from Lebanon through Europe, Imad shared his skills cooking for other refugees, up to 400 at a time, and found even in the most challenging times, his passion for food and bringing people together to celebrate life was strong.

lovely festive look & feel. we were situated upstairs where it was likely challenging for staff to keep coming up & down. we had 3 different people serving us - understandable. They were very pleasant but due to Christmas season it became very loud and hectic. I’m supposing this was simple the holiday vibe? Our food was excellent for the price and I’d like to go back when it’s NOT so busy. But I think I’d prefer to sit downstairs next time as 3 flights of stairs to the ladies was a bit much. Thanks. Went to have a meal on a Saturday evening pre Christmas. The food was lovely - would highly recommend dessert, which was also amazing considering Hawksmoor are mainly known for steak! Service was spot on - had an extremely attentive waitress who was so friendly and helpful. I ordered a tea with dessert which didn’t come for a while (I was okay with that as not rushing), and she brought it over and took it off the bill apologising for the wait! Restaurant is just off regent street, near Piccadilly Circus so can sometimes hear outside traffic but didn’t bother us. Would definitely come back again
