- JJoanneOxford/Oxfordshire •3 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoWe popped in on the way home to Oxford from Cheltenham and found the pub available for a table under the search 'cosy pub near Burford' It didn't disappoint. We had a lovely welcome, table for two in the bar area and the fire was lit so it was very cosy. A nice warm pub considering it was below freezing outside. There were a number of dishes on the specials board and I went for the calves liver while my husband had the pie. The food was carefully prepared, exceeded expectations and very delicious. There were a good selection of drinks and I enjoyed a glass of Marlborough wine while my teetotal husband had a diet coke. The atmosphere was nice cos there were candles, the fire and not too noisy. A perfect stop off for dinner on our journey home. Would definitely recommend. NB I'm gluten free and there was a good selection of choices.More infoThe Angel at BurfordPrice: Expensive• British• Burford•4.7
- CChristopherVIPGloucestershire/Wiltshire •8 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoThe Swan at Southrop is an absolute delight. Great location, fabulous interiors with a glowing fire in the main dining room. The food is a real treat. The steak frites and half chicken mains are reminiscent of sitting in a Parisian bistro. The sticky toffee pudding is prize winning. Great wine selection. But its really about the staff as well -so well informed, professional and seamless service. A real treat!More infoThe Swan at SouthropPrice: Expensive• British• Lechlade•4.4

- AAnonBedfordshire •25 reviews5.0Dined on 21 Jun 2024The food was amazing; we all had different dishes (mains and desserts) and were very impressed with the taste, quality of ingredients and the presentation. We got complimentary bread and butter at the start, which was a nice touch. The venue has character and is a charming old building. Our server was brilliant, especially considering her very young age - she was friendly, polite and knowledgeable about the menu. The village of Buckland is beautiful - we went for a walk after lunch. I would highly recommend making a visit here.More infoThe Lamb at BucklandPrice: Expensive• British• Buckland Marsh•4.4
