Opening their first location in the spring of 1984, Helen Babalos & Thomas Makris brought us Anatoli Souvlaki. They had a dream of combining the food of Greece with great service to add some Mediterranean style to the North Vancouver restaurant selection. They opened in the sleepy neighbourhood of lower Lonsdale and lived above the restaurant to ensure the quality and service. They were able to create a North Vancouver staple, a successful thriving restaurant based on faithful patrons and a reputation that has been passed through generations.In 2011, the family-run restaurant was taken over by their sons Alexi and Iani. In 2015, the brothers, alongside their cousin Daniel Bergman, expanded on their parent’s dream by opening The Greek in Yaletown, with a focus on mezze-style dining. Now open in Gastown.     Our server was helpful and accommodated a change to the menu for an allergy. He was patient and around just enough. The food was so delicious and flavourful. My favourite was the taro chips and dip. The prawns were also delish. Even though we were seated on the outdoor patio in December, it was warm enough. Just wish there were slightly more substantial chairs. We were seated on very small stools.

    It was my first visit to Vancouver from NJ so I was on the hunt for the best poutine. This place did not disappoint! I had the best burger, poutine, and local ale ever with the best view and the kindest waiter. Thank you, Jordan!

    Great experience here! Very personalized service, lovely room. Started off with tasty complimentary bread and butter and tried the fried cauliflower and braised brisket. Braised brisket was excellent!
