Butterjoint is a comfy bar and restaurant located in North Oakland. The wait to be seated was reasonable. The food took a little longer than expected even though there were hardly any tables taken. The food was delicious. I was disappointed with the small amount of salmon for$25: my ordered burger (ordered without a bun) was bigger than the piece of salmon. The staff were pleasant.

The pasta dishes were superb, as was the salad with lump crab meat and avocado. The panini, however, was disappointing. The bread was two slabs of thick, Texas-style bread, and the filling was very thick. Along with the Italian meats and cheese, there was shredded lettuce. If it was cooked on a Panini Press, the chef/cook forgot to close and press it. Obviously, whoever made the Panini has never been to Italy.

Food was excellent and Ruby, our server, was outstanding! Very attentive and checked back multiple times plus she was very friendly. Would definitely recommend the Artisan Bread Board, Crab Cakes and Not Your Grandma’s Pretzel Salad - delicious!! We will definitely be back.

One of the best meals I’ve had in awhile. Fantastic classic(ish) Italian dishes, delicious cocktails, and amazing service. They even gave us dessert and Prosecco on the house for desserts taking a few extra minutes and that was not needed at all - service was perfect. Will 100% come back.
