The Reef, originally called Comptons, was built by the Usina family on a beautiful piece of oceanfront property, owned by the family for generations, located on tranquil North Beach, three miles north of the Usina Bridge. Comptons opened in 1989 and enjoyed great success for the next ten years. It closed in 1999 due to the ill health of Mr. Compton and hurricane damage. There are few remaining true Oceanfront restaurants in Northeast Florida, and of those, The Reef, commands the most spectacular views. Sit at any table inside and the view is dynamic to say the least, or enjoy the recently rebuilt and expanded deck where you not only look out at The Ocean, you listen to it too as the waves break and the birds cry. To complement this vista Chef Denzel Aponte' has created a menu primarily of fish and seafood balanced with beef, poultry pasta and creative specials, always fresh and sourced locally whenever possible.

Amici Italian Restaurant, located on the corner of A1A and 312, has been part of the St. Augustine community for over 20 years. In 2020, local Award-winning Chef Freddy Underhill and his wife, Jennifer, purchased Amici with the hopes of carrying on it's legacy. However, 6 days in, they were shut down for dine-in service due to COVID-19. The new owners were motivated and are proud to have remained open to serve St. Augustine and the many visitors travelling through each year. Best known for their traditional Italian-American classics like lasagna, parmigiana and alfredo, locals love the Pancetta Candita (aka Candied Bacon) and the Boozy Tiramisu. Don't miss the best kept secrets though! Regulars love the 16+ oz. USDA Prime Ribeye and the Award-Winning Celery Datil Soup. Only three miles south of the historic district, Amici has plenty of parking and loves entertaining large parties. They are family-owned and operated and love to host other families!

A busy Valentines Day evening but service and food was spot on,…..well organized and cheerful people. Menu is limited but they had specials to encourage repeat diners. Watching the mixologists do their thing is true art! Highly recommend and one of the few restaurants in this city that take reservations to make everything easey peasey.

We sat outside and it was a lovely evening. The gnats were out, but there’s not much to be done about that. The ambience and view were fabulous. It was quiet and very pleasant. Our servers were attentive and polite. The food was excellent. We shared the chorizo Del Mar and a datil oyster special that were both exceptional. I had the beef cheeks which were delicious as were the accompaniments. It was a little rich for my wife’s taste, but it was delicious. She had the Trio, which was picanha, delicious ember chicken thigh and house made Malbec chorizo. She enjoyed it very much. A great experience. It is not inexpensive but there is plenty of value in the quality of the dining experience!

We were disappointed when we found that the St. Aug Beach location was closed, so were thrilled to hear that this restaurant had re-located from St. Aug Beach to the Sabastian Winery building. Many great meals in the past. They are warming into the new space which is nice and will only get better. The food is terrific! Don't miss the Escargot and any of the entrees will not be a miss! We ordered the Gambas & the Short Ribs. The Shrimp was served over pureed cauliflower & some veggies & a bit of Chimichurri around the edges, which was a delightful surprise and so much lighter than mashed potatoes, so the taste of the blacked Red Shrimp could come through. The Short Ribs were crazy good as well. Tender and delicious! The portions are significant for all items ordered and the value is very good. Our server George was a pro. Attentive and not overbearing. A great night and a great meal! We'll be back! Thank you.
