- LLeeYorkshire •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoOur first visit here for my wife’s birthday. I was really impressed from just initially walking into the restaurant. All the staff that greet are ultra polite and in a very natural and normal way not an overbearing or overly formal way. The level of service is above anything I’ve experienced in the surrounding area. Prior to the food arriving, with the ambience of the restaurant and the politeness and warmth shown by the staff I had no doubt that the food was also going to be excellent. I wasn’t wrong. It was all first class and we will be back in the future. There are a lot of bar/restaurant type establishments around Penistone and Holmfirth but in the restaurant area this place is a step above anything I have experienced elsewhere. Perfect for a special occasion or just a meal out . Fantastic!More infoDevourPrice: Expensive• Contemporary Italian• Holmfirth•4.6

- YYvonneYorkshire •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoLovely food and great atmosphere. Staff were attentive and friendly. We ate in the bar and it was so warm and cosy! We had a meal and drink from the lunch menu for £12. Great value too!More infoGolden CockPrice: Moderate• Pub• Huddersfield•4.7
- RRooneyLondon •2 reviews4.0Dined on 7 Nov 2024Not as good as previous visits, but has apparently been recently taken over. Very disorganised, no drinks menus available, no knowledge of what was available. Drink spilled when delivering, but no offer to clean it up. Service very slow. The food however was good. Tonic water appeared in a glass, rather than in a bottle with a glass, which I found strange. The gentleman who I presume was the cook was somewhat dishevelled, with dirty clothes - a bit off-putting. Would I return? Possibly, but I think I’ll give them time to ‘settle in’. This place used to be superb, so I’m hoping it will return to that level.More infoThe ShrubPrice: Moderate• British• Brighouse•4.7
