Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Oak Park

Wow, great choice if you’re looking for Christmas vibes. The decorations inside were amazing. The food was good. The drinks were festive. We had a great experience.

Love this place! Food, service and vibe has been outstanding for so many years. It is clear that the new owner is dedicated to maintaining this special restaurant for the community for many more years to come!! Bravo.

Marvin is an amazing server, he is personable, his timing is impeccable, and you can never go wrong with his recommendations. Our appetizers and entrees were flawless and I highly recommended the mushroom ravioli. The only suggestion we have for improvement is the cocktail list. The bartenders were both very friendly, they did a great job executing the cocktails on their list, but the cocktail list is vodka heavy and seems straight out of the late nineties early 2000s. The art of cocktails has involved past mules and 15 flavors of vodka “martinis” and their list would benefit from expanding or at least having the ingredients to cover classics from the IBA list.

I always liked the original location in grosse pointe. Have not been to Royal since it first opened. Still great!

The signature Don’t Speak cocktail was good. Chianti was very nice. Break basket always wonderful. Oysters were too small. Roasted beet salad was good. Roasted cabbage and lentils entree was outstanding. Chocolate hazelnut torte was very good. Service was outstanding. Christmas tree and roaring fire made it all so cozy.
