THE PORT HOUSEDUBLIN & LONDONOpened first in 2006 we realised we had something special in our little cave on South William Street in Dublin 2! Twelve months later, we opened another little cave in Temple Bar and our third in a cottage in Dundrum Town’s Centre’s Pembrook District. After three successful restaurants and seven years of hard work and saving our pocket money, we decided we were grown up enough to hit London in search of fame and fortune down the West End of Covent Garden, where we hope to get a small bit part alongside Jude Law! In 2019, we were delighted to announce that we opened our fifth location in Camden Street, Dublin 2. Which is an incredibly diverse area that gives us the opportunity to present our tapas, ports and wines with a focus on Cava that does not receive the attention it deserves.

I have occassion to visit Johnnie Foxes quite often. Choices for food and craic in Dublin are getting better and better, and yet I will still take the drive up the gorgeous Dublin and Wicklow mountains for lunch in Johnnie Foxes. Sometimes on my own, and sometimes with clients. There's no fuss, always a great service (even when they're busy), and the staff are always really friendly. The food has always been gorgeous, especially the seafood pie and the beef and Guinness pie (and apparently the oysters too, according to friends, if you like them), and maybe one of the things I love most about Johnnie Foxes is that they don't overcharge - they could easily stick another 20% onto their prices like so many other Irish outlets, but they don't, and as a Dubliner that's a winner for me. At this stage Johnnie Foxes is quite famous, and they could rest on their laurels, letting their outstanding decor and history do the job of attracting tourists and visitors, but they don't do that either. I guess I've been there over 50 times by now, and every single time has been a 5 star event, so I thought it time to write a review. Sorry for taking so long!
