Since 1746, the building that houses this tavern has played a part in the establishment of our nation; first as a respite for stagecoach travelers expanding westward and later as a covert rendezvous point for George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette, and other leaders of the American revolution. It is believed that during the infamous winter of 1777–1778 at Valley Forge, a major figure in the Continental Army, master military mind Friedrich Von Steuben, designated the tavern as a secret black powder munitions stash for Continental Army couriers. Reservation easy on Open Table. We were greeted promptly and seated in a quiet room with nice ambience. I thought the quality of the sushi rolls was truly excellent. The service was attentive and the price good value.

We stumbled on the Thanksgiving buffet at Fern & Fable in 2023. We couldn’t wait to return this year. We love the food, and the picky kids in the family love it, too. The service is great and everyone is personable. This year we had a last minute need for two children and 1 adult who had nowhere to go for a holiday dinner. I sent an email to the email address listed and received a response right away from the event coordinator, Dawn, saying it was “no problem” to add them to my reservation. That made my whole day and was greatly appreciated! Great place, great food, wonderful management!
