Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in Providence

We had a wonderful Valentines dinner! The table near the window was perfect and a good size, service was great & the short rib/ lamb shank was absolutely delicious. We never felt rushed & the waiter was very attentive throughout the evening. The dessert at the end is a must! We will totally return, huge thank you to the chef/ kitchen staff, service staff & management for all your hard work on a busy Valentine’s Day weekend! You made the night truly special!!

Visited on a Monday night and it was a terrific evening! The entire staff was great from the wait staff to the servers to the complimentary valet which is a bonus on Federal Hill. We opted for Massimo's Monday Night Wine + Dine set price menu because they included terrific gluten free Italian options - to include GF bread. We shared the Baby Spinach, Caramelized Onion, Gorgonzola, Candied Walnuts, Pancetta, Balsamic Vinaigrette Salad, Calamari Fritti, Shrimp Scampi and Gnocchi margherita - all cooked beautifully. We parted ways on dessert so there was Tiramisu, Cannoli, and we even added a Cheesecake with Cherries. Needless to say, we are not afraid of a great meal! We will be back! Thank you!

Christmas Eve dinner. Festive, lively atmosphere without being too loud for easy conversation. Service was excellent, beginning with the accommodation of a late addition guest. Staff was there for every need and question yet never made us feel rushed—even though our meal went past closing. I expected great food and was not disappointed. Oysters were particularly good and French-pressed coffee always adds a great finishing touch. My teenagers had a great time and have a new appreciation for real food. Highly recommend.

Unexpected gem on the rivers of the quaint Providence town. Portions were unexpectedly large, and the food was just delicious. Only made better by great bartender… Absolutely will patronize the river bistro in the future. 

Nice variety on the menu (we had steak sandwich, fish & chips, sliders, fish tacos and more) and we enjoyed ourselves. Our server was attentive and friendly.
