The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s. In this reinvention of a building that had been a series of eateries over several decades, the space features vaulted ceilings, reclaimed-barn-wood walls, comfy booths, and a full bar that extends from the airy interior to the breezy deck. A mahogany seating bar runs the length of the deck so guests can sit and enjoy a clear panorama of the water, and an austere metal awning gives outdoor diners a shady place to enjoy the view, the breeze-and, of course, the food.
