Best Restaurants for Outdoor Dining in York

Food was excellent, staff very polite & efficient & it was extremely busy.

Our meal at The Refectory in York was exceptional. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were professional and attentive throughout. We started with a warm sourdough loaf with bee honey, seafood cocktail and a haddock souffle' - all beautifully presented and delicious. For mains, the pan fried sea bass was perfectly cooked, and the venison was tender and full of flavor. An unforgettable dining experience - we highly recommend The Refectory and look forward to returning!

What an amazing restaurant!! We were lucky enough to get a table as we were staying at the hotel - so glad we did. The menu choice was great and varied and our meals were delicious. My husband had the steak and said it was the best he’s had ( and he’s visited a lot of restaurants!) . Very reasonably priced for the quality of food . The hardest thing was what to chose as all the food looked great

I would thoroughly recommend Lucia as a place to meet up with friends or just enjoy a meal for two or with the family. The menu offers a wide selection of delicious food and the service is always attentive and efficient.The restaurant is always well presented and spotless. We will return in the very near future.

On a cold and rainy night in pre-Christmas York, we were glad to be able to secure a table for two. We read the menu and thought we would try the Monday night burger offer. The food exceeded our expectations by a mile. The quality was fantastic, the food piping hot, the service very good considering how busy it was with Christmas visitors. The surroundings so relaxed and comfortable we just had to stay for a lovely pud, a totally fab cheesecake with pear poached in mulled wine, a total showstopper! 😋 Altogether a lovely experience and only five minutes dash back to our hotel in the rain. Would definitely visit again.
