Best Restaurants with Private Rooms in San Mateo

Our first time here. The menu was vast. Loved that you could get a variety of appetizers, pizza, a burger, pasta or any number of fancier offerings. The entree's were all paired with delicious sides to the proteins. We had excellent service. The ambiance was warm, intimate and inviting. Everyone enjoyed their food. I will definitely be coming back.

The fish came too dry and lamb chop for the price they charged was 3 smallest lamb chops.

We loved the place. It was homey and comfortable, excellent family style resetting. Food was great, especially the lasagna bolognese. Loved it. Will definitely go back for more.

This French restaurant, at the corner of Primrose and Chapin Aves in Burlingame, is well worth a 5-star rating on all counts. Modern, yet subtle, decor, unobtrusive period music in the background, excellent and varied selections, ample portions, and fantastic service provide a reason to return time and time again. Our party of three enjoyed the rack of lamb, the lobster ravioli, and the cassoulet. Each dish showed the attention and skills of a master chef. In addition to a la carte choices, they offer a prix fixe menu at $65 that provides an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert, with no menu exceptions, for this very sensible price. The restaurant offers a broad selection of wines and beer but does not have a full bar so anyone in need of a cocktail before dinner may feel temporary disappointment. Nonetheless, Chou Chou is fine dining!

Foods were very good, only my husband was disappointed for not having the fresh oyster which we usually have when we eat on Sunday brunch at cafe florian.
