- JJoeKansas City •15 reviews5.0Dined todayInitially I was reluctant to go here since it is a hotel restaurant but the weather was not good so we went. Good choice! My wife got the burrata caprese salad and I had mushroom and black truffle soup. The caprese was delicate and the soup was rich and perfectly prepared. For main courses my wife had la classics lasagna napoletana, which was firm and deeply meaty, quite delicious. I had the tagliatelle don Alfronso, which was to die for. The sauce with their home grown tomatoes was exquisitely sweet and the home made pasta perfect. I’m of Italian ancestry and have been eating Italian food my whole life and I cannot recall something this delicious, even when we’ve been in Sorrento. The service was attentive and helpful and the owner interested in our thoughts. Highly recommended.More infoCasa Don Alfonso - The Ritz-Carlton St. LouisPrice: Very Expensive• Mediterranean• Clayton•4.3

More food than I could eat in one sitting. Cesar salad and cannoli for dessert made for a perfect dinner.More infoCharlie Gitto's 'On the Hill'Price: Expensive• Italian• The Hill•4.8
- TTrentSt. Louis •4 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoIf you’re looking for impeccable service paired with an unforgettable dining experience, Nate at 801 Chophouse is the person you need. Our recent visit was elevated to a whole new level of excellence thanks to his professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine warmth. We booked the private room to enjoy a night of fine dining while watching WWE—an unconventional pairing that could have been challenging for most servers, but not for Nate. He seamlessly balanced the sophistication of the restaurant with the casual excitement of our group, ensuring every aspect of the experience was flawless. From the moment we sat down, Nate set the tone with his extensive knowledge of the menu and wine list. His recommendation of the Delmonico steak was spot-on—perfectly cooked, rich, and incredibly flavorful. It was the star of the meal. And when it came to the wine, Nate’s pairing suggestions elevated the steak even further, showing his expertise and keen understanding of how to enhance every bite. Nate’s timing was impeccable—our drinks were refilled before we even had to ask, courses arrived without a hitch, and he maintained a perfect balance of attentiveness and discretion, allowing us to fully enjoy both the meal and the entertainment. It’s rare to find a server who not only meets but exceeds every expectation, creating a dining experience you’ll want to relive. Nate is that rare find, and 801 Chophouse is lucky to have him. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just want to treat yourself to a night of luxury, make sure you ask for Nate. And don’t miss out on the Delmonico steak—it’s an absolute must!More info801 Chophouse - St. LouisPrice: Very Expensive• Steakhouse• Clayton•4.7
- KKarlVIPSacramento / Sacramento Valley •184 reviews4.0Dined on 8 Sept 2024This weekend evening at dinner time when the local baseball game was on-going should have provided personalized and individualized care. However, with one bartender and one server (I so no food runner or assistants or managers either) the service was slow. When it happened, the server was marginal but the bartender, Toni, was absolutely fabulous! She not only made you feel welcome and appreciated, she made the BEST Paper Plane in the Universe! The mix of doos that we selected was well presented and tasty. The menu however is very small and Pennydrop is more of an upscale bar with a small bar menu as opposed to a full service restaurant with an amazing bar. When the baseball game finished and a crowd from the game flowed in, the service slowed even further and lines at the bar were much longer. With a few more staff members, the experience would have been maximized. Regardless of this, I will be back for my next Paper Plane before I head out of town.More infoPennydrop Bar + KitchenPrice: Moderate• American• St. Louis•3.5
