Best Restaurants for Birthdays in Wilmington

Our recent visit to The Capital Grille in Burlington was absolutely fantastic! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. We began our evening with drinks in the bar area, where Caroline took great care of us. She is always incredible—attentive, friendly, and just a joy to be around. The drinks were outstanding, perfectly crafted, and set the tone for a wonderful night. Once we were seated for dinner, our waitress at the table was equally wonderful. She was so patient and attentive, allowing us to take our time, enjoy our meals, and truly soak in the elegant yet comfortable atmosphere. And the food? Simply delicious—every single dish was a hit, and everyone at our table loved their meals. The Capital Grille continues to be one of our favorite places for an exceptional dining experience. From the service to the food and the overall ambiance, it was a perfect evening. We can’t wait to return!

Post1917 is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is warm and inviting, striking the perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The service is impeccable—attentive, friendly, and truly top-notch. The food? Simply outstanding! Every dish is crafted with care, using fresh, high-quality ingredients that make every bite an experience to savor. The flavors are rich, the presentation is beautiful, and the portions are just right. Beyond the food and service, the overall value is fantastic. You truly get what you pay for, and the experience is well worth it. Even the noise level is just right—not too loud, allowing for a pleasant dining experience. Overall: Outstanding in every category—food, service, ambiance, value, and noise level. A must-visit!

Phish and chips was fresh and fried well. I wish there was more seasoning in the fish but it was still satisfying. The Loaded Poutine Fries had flavorful short rib gravy. The Short Rib Sandwich was the winner! The meat was extremely flavorful and cooked well and the dipping gravy elevated it to another level! Unfortunately, the Mac and Cheese was a disappointment - the translucent cheese sauce lacked cheese flavor. This was quite regrettable considering the quality of our overall food experience. The environment was very comfortable and pleasant. It had creative pieces such as a chandelier made out of trumpets, lighting that looked like piano keys, and a hung guitar art piece made out of metal gears. The waiter was attentive, pleasant, and fulfilled our customized requests accurately, timely, and graciously. The live music was wonderful! The musician was great and the audio system was clear but not excessively loud. We felt comfortable to dance and really had a nice time!

We had a fabulous dinner tonight at Black and Blue Steak and crab in Burlington. We requested a quiet table (59th wedding anniversary) and were seated at a corner table for four just for the two of us. Perfect. No negatives tonight. Great staff, great, original food, awesome Manhattan and the price was appropriate for such a wonderful evening. I had the two filets with crab, husband had the scallops. We both cleaned our plates. No room for dessert. We would return, maybe for our 60th? :)

Gianna was an excellent server. It was easy to get a reservation on a Saturday and the host was very accommodating when we arrived about 20 minutes early. All the food was delicious. But the green beans were a little tough, just not to my liking. But the rice and cabbage in my salmon dish were yummy.The drinks were small for the cost but tasty for the most part. The atmosphere was great, although it was so loud in the bar area that it was difficult for the people in my party to hear each other speaking. People around us looked like they were having a great time. I would definitely go again, but maybe on a weeknight so hopefully it would be a little less hectic.
