Best Comfort Food Restaurants in Thornwood

We had a lovely lunch at the Ho Ho Kus Inn. The entrees were great—burgers, Cobb Salad and a chicken dish. I didn’t care for the appetizers; warm pretzel was doughy inside and dates wrapped in bacon had very burnt bacon and dates were weird, and not like a date at all. My friend makes these and they are so good. These were not. But everything else was very nice. The server was very very nice and attentive just as you would like. Will return.

This was the first time we’d been to Alessandro’s since it was redone. Not for lack of interest; just a tough reservation to get! But it sure was worth the effort. The pace looks great, the service was as good as always and the food was better than I remembered. Best artichoke salad and chicken scarparella! Already can’t wait to go back. Bonus, Alessandro is the lost wonderful host. Always makes it a point to come say hi.

Vela Kitchen Pleasantville has become our local "Cheers." Everyone knows our names, the food is consistently yummy, and the experience always fun. Michael and Joanne are the quintessential hosts, always welcoming us with hugs and smiles. We are devoted customers and have told many friends and neighbors to support this wonderul local establishment.

The perfect place to meet our out of town friends and enjoy a lovely lunch together. The food was wonderful, the service was excellent, beautifully decorated for the holidays and we were able to have a delightful conversation without feeling rushed. Thank you Tramonto!
