Best Date Night Restaurants in Hamilton

Never had food, just drinks, cocktails were lovely and the place was beautiful, would definitely recommend and visit

This is my favourite steak restaurant in Glasgow and hence why once again I chose it for my Birthday lunch with family. My wife had obviously told them that it was my birthday so there was a birthday card on the table..a nice touch. Anyway starters were excellent with the pork cheek and tiger prawn being superb. I had had the philly cheese steak spring rolls previously and knew these were really filling however my son had these and they looked superb. We all had fillet steaks cooked to either medium rare or medium and all were cooked to perfection. Accompanied by hand cut chips we also had sides of onion rings, rocket and parmesan, mac and cheese and glazed carrots and by the end we were all full although I did not have a dessert my wife and future daughter in law did and they looked brilliant. Lovely ambience, attentive staff, had the scallops (first time having them!) and steak which were delicious. Great selection of drinks too. I am gluten intolerant (coeliac) and found the menu to have a good selection of dishes that I could have, with the staff being happy to talk through the options and offer suggestions to modify any non gluten dishes (where possible) to cater to my allergy- the scallops being an example, I just had them without the black pudding. Will definitely be back again!

Good food, piping hot and served quickly. Reasonable prices. Also, the toilets (gents) were clean and tidy—always a sign of a well-managed restaurant. I am sure the ladies toilet was the same, but I didn't see them.

We knew this establishment as a “Navy Pub” which tended to be somewhat raucous. It’s certainly not now! There was an interesting menu with some less common items like Osso Bucco. Our table was close to another with eight or so ‘ladies of around 40’ having a raucous party but fortunately they moved on soon. Our food was delicious but the choice was restricted by several things being “sold out” - and this was only about 18.30. The hen party perhaps? The staff were really excellent and our bill was adjusted a bit to compensate for unavailable items. Overall it was quite a bit better than we initially expected and we will go back in future.
