With vodka distilled from estate grapes, gins with locally foraged botanicals, and whiskeys aged in a mix of used Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Riesling casks, our approach to the distillation and aging of spirits is heavily influenced by our winemaking roots. Spirits tastings are offered in the cottage on weekends, and in the wine tasting room daily upon request. Mushrooms are the heart of what we do at the Joel Palmer House. We have always endeavored to obtain seasonal and local ingredients and we use many locally produced greens, herbs, and vegetables, some of which come from our own culinary garden. We are frequently inspired by ingredients found in the cuisines of France, China, Thailand, Poland and India, so we call our cooking "freestyle." Our dishes pair well the celebrated wines of Oregon, especially Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. Our extensive, Oregon-focused wine list has been awarded the Best of Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator. Of special note, The Joel Palmer House ranks as one of Oregon's finest historic homes and is on the National Register of Historic Places and the Oregon Historic Register. Built in 1857, the house is Dayton's oldest standing structure. When weather permits, guests can enjoy their dinner on our outdoor patio, soaking in the last rays of sunshine in the heart of Oregon Wine Country.

Amazing Christmas Eve dinner - place was slammed but handled it well - it took a bit to get started but we were not in a hurry - amazing drink and wine selection - great appetizers and steak was as expected for Prime. Highly recommend Onion Rings, Pacific Oysters, Lobster Oscar (on steak) and it was the best crème brûlée we have ever had and we are crème brûlée snobs 🤣. Hank was a great waiter - 5 Stars.

We’ve always had a great experience at Nostrana, and love to celebrate special occasions there. Ensalata Nostrana and Pizza with extra fixings are a great standby; last night we got the Papardelle as well, so good! Excellent wine list and the Tiramisu is a perfect way to end the meal.

Easy to make the reservation online (though limited open spots) through Open Table. Showed up on time for our Monday 530 pm res for 4 and was greeted with a smile and genuine positive energy. When seated, Brandon, who took great care of us, explained the specials, several of the regular dishes and wine choices. The service was mostly Brandon who was helped by other members of the staff, as well. Noise level was much more muted than usual for an exposed brick decor and lent to the feeling of a cozy dinner. It seemed many of the guests were regulars and gushed over the owners, staff and dishes. We didn't try the desserts as we were stuffed after such wonderful offerings Biggest hits for us were the sunchokes and Bolognese.

We went for Sunday Brunch at 11:30. The restaurant was busy but quiet. We were seated immediately. We enjoyed our server who we have had before. The menu had a good variety of appitizers, salads, and main courses. My wife had crab eggs Benedict and I had smoked salmon eggs Benedict. Both were excellent and we would highly recommend them. Dundee Bistro is a favorite restaurant of ours and we highly recommend it.
