An alfresco dining area accommodates 16 guests, the dining room seating 40 guests that now have a clear view into an open plan kitchen with banquette seating surrounded by the soft hues of jade green and dusty heather pink. Hawksmoor Wood Wharf is housed in an eco-friendly floating pavilion in a new riverside neighbourhood in Canary Wharf. Gently rising and falling with the tide, the main restaurant at dock-level is joined by a 120-seat waterside bar. Both include terraces with views across the water (squint your eyes and you might just see the ghosts of great ships laden with mighty lengths of timber that used to swing in and unload there). There's also a private dining room for up to 20 people named after the local legend Queenie Watts, a singer, songwriter, actor and self-confessed bawdy landlady (think Peggy Mitchell meets Joni Mitchell). The menu revolves around the best British produce the country has to offer with grass-fed dry-aged ethically reared beef, sustainable seafood from the South coast and some of the biggest hits from the Hawksmoor New York menu.

We’ve long loved Canary Wharf and it's rich history of the nearby Docklands and Billingsgate Market, yet Blacklock in a glass tower never quite fit. One look at an old disused warehouse nestled cosily in the corner of Canary Wharf underneath the train tracks of the North Dock and we knew we had found home. Feel the comforting rumble of trains passing overhead conjuring memories of some of our favourite haunts underneath the bridges in NYC - a place where, with the blinds rolled down and away from prying eyes, a decadent lunch can swiftly roll into dinner.

I have wanted to eat here for a while and got the chance this week. It was everything I had hoped for and more... Seasonal menu with great choice and the cookery absolutely on point. What's lovely is that there are four courses with choices on each course which works for me better than a tasting menu where the diner doesn't have choice. Everything I had tasted and looked amazing. You can tell its based on classical French roots...the core ingredient is the star and is not 'messed about with'. The associated sauces, garnish, textures all compliment it. Great wine list and a very good range of wines by the glass which works well if you have four courses with the choices supported by knowledgeable but unpretentious sommeliers. Good food is one thing but its the service and ambience that makes a restaurant you want to return to. I definitely will be returning whenever I can. Fantastic food and wine in an elegant but unstuffy environment with knowledgeable, cheerful and perfectly attentive staff. Thank you!

Salt yard is an absolute banker for all food tastes. After recently sharing the delicious and incredibly generous taster menu at the Fitzrovia restaurant, I invited my vegetarian friend to the Borough one. She and I shared equally tasty vegetarian plates. Away from the madding crowd it is a place of total solace, from the food to all parts of the dining experience.

The restaurant was very busy , so there were delays with service . Although the website showed several menus , only one was available - the festive menu . Food was good and served hot. Would like some more interesting icecream flavours e.g. coffee and cardamom or brown bread . £140 for 2 . No starters , a main each , one side, a few scoops of ice cream , 2 coffees and a bottle of wine. Wine prices started about £48 per bottle.
